Central 1 Credit Union is a trade association and central banking association for nearly 200 member credit unions in British Columbia and Ontario. From offices in Vancouver, BC and Mississauga, ON, nearly 500 employees provide a wide range of services including payments settlement, liquidity management, Internet, and trade association functions. The Enterprise Architect position is located in Vancouver.
We are looking for an enterprise architect to take responsibility for the end to end system architecture for Central 1. The enterprise architect provides solutions in support of a wide variety of business initiatives across a complex & varied technology landscape, including legacy mainframe systems, systems for internal groups, and a variety of web applications used both internally and by our clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
•Creating and maintaining end to end architecture specifications both for the current & future states;
•Assessing existing end to end architectures for their ability to support complex business initiatives and projects;
•Providing guidance and direction to technology staff working projects to ensure their work fits into the overall architectural vision.
•Investigating advances in technology, industry best practices and assessing the capacity of the corporation to absorb and/or support new technologies and processes.
•Work with Sr. Management to establish better architecture decision making, input & review processes within Central 1
•Work with the Infrastructure teams to develop capacity plans;
•Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a technology standards policy;
Requirements:
•Ability to balance complex competing interests and manage solution risks;
•Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with stakeholder departments, in determining an appropriate solution;
•Exposure to a wide-range of IT solutions and platforms, such as Mainframe systems, Java based web applications, Microsoft platforms;
•Familiarity with industry architecture frameworks and best practices;
•Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture principles and lifecycle;
•Understanding of IT Security principles and approaches,
•Experience developing complex extranet environments and an understanding of various approaches to identity & access management.
•Understanding of integration technologies and approaches, and integration of 3rd party solutions into existing IT environments;
•Knowledge of Data Warehousing principles and approaches would be an asset;
•Superior written and oral communication skills;
•Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
